Omnipotent

I found the word omnipotent was very cool when I first met it in a vocabulary book called verbal advantage. Being interest in many things I don’t know, I have read a lot of books in many aspects to want to be an omnipotent person. However, given that no one has 25 hours a day while the sleeping, eating, playing, surfing the Internet occupy a lot of time in the whole 24 hours, the effective studying time is considerably less. What’s more, the way I “read” were merely opening the cover for few pages and throwing it away for something which was more interesting. In fact, I am nearly ignorant other than knowledgeable, let alone to be omnipotent.

Benjamin Franklin is one of the great persons I admire, and he could be called omnipotent due to his contribution in a significant number of different subject areas. A noted polymath, Franklin was a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, postmaster, scientist, musician, inventor, satirist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat [Wikipedia]. Maybe I can get some inspiration from his biography. So I want to read it again these days.

We learned a story about a monkey in mountains choosing among fruit again and again; however, at last it got nothing. I think the poor monkey is the shadow of me in a sense. The book, Multiple View Geometry in Computer Vision, is a bible-book in 3D vision. I got it long ago, but never read it over the first the chapter, by the way, the book verbal advantage mentioned in the first paragraph is also a good book and not read more than the first chapter by me. I am rereading Multiple View Geometry in Computer Vision these days and have finished the first three chapters now. It is really a great book. Maybe it’s impossible to be omnipotent since I was an ordinary person just like a leaf in the huge Ocean, however, I could be knowledgeable in the discipline of computer vision through hardworking.

I did badly in the PhD Entrance Examination as I expected before, but I review the knowledge about the mathematic during the past month which is good for me to read the bibliography which is full of math equation such as Matrix, Calculus.

For many year of English studying, I take the most time in reading, which is of course the easiest in the listening-speaking-reading-writing. Writing is the poorest aspect of me. What’s more, I never train it since the undergraduate time. English studying should be a lifetime task, and it’s never too late to do it.

Finding a job should be the major job in the next days. For long time, I fear to face it as I feel I hadn’t be perfect, but no one could be perfect, it’s time to face and deal it.

I gave everyone in the lab a CD collection of my works during the Master period when I graduated last year. I guess much of them may throw it away just as I treat to the CDs I received from books or other ways. But when a junior sister apprentice talked about the content in the CD with me the day before yesterday, it really surprised me. Feeling be respected and trusted is a delightful thing, whereas the feeling of guilt haunt in my mind if I let them down sometimes.
